With the financial support of the Canadian Government through Canadian Heritage society, Nisa Helpline is very excited to announce our new Changemakers Youth Initiative!

With this project, we aim to equip our young women with resources to navigate the challenges we face as Muslims in Canadian society.

The Challenge

As women we already face challenges unique to our gender – but, when you are a woman of colour and a woman of faith – these challenges increase in intensity. This is why we need effective programs that focus on creating opportunities for individual development.

Through education and empowerment, young Muslim women can rise above the discrimination, racism and inequality we face at home, at work and online and become positive contributors to Canadian society.

Our Focus

Our Changemakers Initiative will focus on empowerment in 3 dynamic ways:

  1. Leadership and Development
  2. Community Education
  3. Digital Media Literacy

Empowerment is key – therefore we will also focus on establishing an open communication with participants in order to ensure that their voices are truly heard and brought to the forefront.

Our Commitment

We want to promote the empowerment of young Muslim women by taking these steps to address larger issues within the Canadian society.

For those of you who are living in isolated Muslim populations throughout Canada with limited access to resources. You will not be forgotten.

We will continue to update all of you who have become a part of our community through our social media platforms and website with more information on the project and how you can get involved.
