Educate to Illuminate
A series of mental health toolkits in collaboration with Human Concern International (HCI).
Mental wellness is the ability to manage life’s highs and lows. Each year, 1 in 5 people experience mental health problems. However, the stigma surrounding mental health continues to create a barrier to access for many members of our community.
Nisa Helpline and Human Concern International present: “The Educate to Illuminate Campaign,” This campaign is an educational initiative emphasizing the importance of mental health for Muslim women. In order to create a path forward, community leaders, religious scholars, and the general public will be provided with the tools they need to build and sustain a well-informed community on mental wellness.
How We Work
Nisa Helpline has been working diligently for the past seven years to provide free, private, and objective peer counselling to marginalized women across North America. Our Peer Counsellors are dedicated to supporting the community 12 hours a day, seven days a week. We have received over 32,000 calls, with an average of 500 each month. Our organization strives to maintain services via workforce planning and training so no call goes unanswered.
